Young Engineers
Young Engineers is the
national network of science, engineering,
electronics and technology clubs in schools and
colleges throughout the UK. With over 27,000 club
members in 1,750 schools, covering all phases of
education (8 to 19 years of age), Young Engineers
purpose is to inspire young people to recognise the
importance and excitement of a career in
engineering.
Membership is free and clubs
are able to take part in team and individual
projects that cover a wide range of engineering
disciplines supported by teachers, Science &
Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) and local companies.
Students of all abilities
experience the application of science, engineering
and technology to real life problems, extending
their work beyond the classroom curriculum and
developing core skills in teamwork, communication
and numeracy. Club members take part in a range of
challenges developed by national sponsors, plus
compete in other competitions such as Young
Engineers for Britain where the prizes, totalling
over £50,000, are an added incentive.
