Civil Engineering is behind
all of these structures. It is concerned with the
planning, design and construction of buildings and
structures, which affect our daily lives. These
include our homes, where we work, transport systems
like roads, railways, airports, docks, bridges and
tunnels, as well as structures such as power
stations, dams, water supply and sewage systems.
Every construction project is unique and requires
careful consideration of the social, environmental
and economic impact, together with thought about the
sustainability of engineering solutions.
